Job Description The Head of Marketing Malaysia is accountable for supporting the development and execution of the Brand strategies for the Malaysian Market. The marketing function focuses on the development and execution of local Marketing strategies to build equity and drive growth across the entire portfolio of coffee, tea and cereal brands. The Head of Marketing reports to the General Manager Malaysia and will be part of the Country Leadership Team.
Manages and coordinates all local marketing activities & multi-brand portfolio. Builds and develops a strong and sustainable local marketing team. Develop short-term and long-term strategies for profitable revenue growth. Drive successful products launches, comprehensive business and market analytics. Plays a critical role with respect to the development of the annual country marketing & business plans. Makes pricing and forecasting recommendations to management and cross-functional teams (Commercial, Supply Chain, Shopper Marketing). Develops local market insights by continuous monitoring competition situation, new target groups, potential customers, market trends and latest technologies. Provides local knowledge and key market insight input to the central marketing organization for potential innovations and trends. Executes local brand activation using above-the-line and below-the-line instruments, all within the context of central brand activation guidelines and communication / media / A&P guidelines and budgets. Manages local product adaptations (C/D) within the context of central innovation decision making. Manages and coordinates all activities within the scope of local launches of New Product Development or Product Adaptations (C/D). Managing key local agencies and controlling Regional and Global guidelines. Manages within central guidelines the budget available for local advertising & promotions that is set by the Principal. Is responsible for the following category development activities: Provides input information to portfolio strategy Provides input for ideation phase of innovations Participates in the development of an innovation / adaptation Produces advertising copy that can be leveraged in selected markets- within guidelines and using communication briefs developed by central Develops local promotion mechanisms and POS materials – within central guidelines Qualifications Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree Minimum 8 years of brand management experience. Regional/Global Marketing experience will be a plus. Managed a category or country in a FMCG company, and has solid experience in food products, category management, brand development, new product development, communication plan development for campaigns, digital marketing and social media marketing. Marketing expertise is essential in all its dimensions, strategic and operational. Successful experience in a company focused on growth.
