Job description 1. A bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, procurement, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant certification (such as CSCP or CPSM) may also be preferred.
2. Extensive experience in procurement, sourcing, and supply chain management, preferably in a retail environment. Experience in managing a procurement team and developing procurement strategies is crucial.
3. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers. Experience in negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers is essential.
4. Knowledge of retail industry trends, market dynamics, and supplier capabilities. Understanding of consumer behavior and how it impacts procurement decisions is also important.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess procurement processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement effective solutions.
6. Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage a team, collaborate with stakeholders, and influence decision-making.
7. Knowledge of procurement tools and technologies, such as e-procurement systems, supplier portals, and data analytics, to streamline processes and drive efficiency.
8. Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement, such as anti-corruption laws, import/export regulations, and intellectual property rights.
9. Ability to adapt to changing market conditions, anticipate potential risks, and make strategic decisions to ensure the organization's competitiveness and profitability.
