Primary Objective(s) of Position - Logistics Industry
The primary objective of the Head of Sales is to drive the company's revenue and gross profit growth by developing and implementing effective sales strategies.
This role involves leading the sales team, managing key customer relationships, and ensuring the achievement of sales targets and objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Execution:
Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the company's overall business goals.
Set annual, quarterly, and monthly sales targets and ensure their achievements.
Analyse market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
Team Leadership and Management:
Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve high performance.
Recruit, train, and develop sales talent to build a strong sales force.
Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Revenue and Profit Growth:
Focus on increasing the company's revenue and gross profit by maximizing sales opportunities.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the customer base.
Develop pricing strategies and negotiate contracts to ensure profitability.
Customer Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
Address customer concerns and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
Implement customer retention strategies to foster long-term partnerships.
Sales Operations and Reporting:
Oversee the sales operations to ensure efficient processes and systems.
Monitor sales performance metrics and generate regular reports for senior management.
Utilize CRM tools and data analytics to track sales activities and performance.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with marketing, product development, and other departments to align sales strategies with company objectives.
Communicate sales goals, strategies, and performance results to the sales team and senior management.
Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
Person Specifications:
A Degree in Supply Chain Management or Logistics.
Minimum 7 years of working experience in logistics or supply chain sales.
Good presentation and communication skills.
Result-oriented.
