The HR Consultant will work closely with people leaders across various functions and geographies to implement HR support aligned with corporate policies and processes, providing advice, support, and mentoring on employment policies, performance management, employee development, and career growth.
The role involves supporting HRBPs with interpersonal design, M&A activity, restructuring, development, and change activities, as well as cyclical HR programs. It also focuses on building trust-based relationships, handling employee relations issues, and driving continuous improvement for cost savings and service enhancement.
What will you be doing? Performance and Customer Focus Focus on performance and customer service by evaluating local employment legislation and HR practices to improve service delivery, leading compliance with HR laws, and partnering with legal teams. They will collaborate with Business Partners and HR teams to review and develop employment policies, communicate legislative changes, and embed new policies in HR technologies. The role includes providing high-quality support and advice on employee relations and performance issues, handling cases efficiently, and supporting local HR initiatives and programs. They will also chip into interpersonal health by analyzing performance indicators and developing solutions for positive trends while participating in audits and reporting requirements.
Coaching For Managers Mentor and influence management on S&N employment policies, ensuring legal and policy interpretations are coordinated into team knowledge. By working with Business Partners, they will improve efficiency in handling attendance, performance, and employee relations, using data to drive proactive support for line managers. They will develop training plans with Learning Services and Business Partners, promote the organization's culture, mentor leaders on aligning behaviours with cultural standards, and implement systems to align individual behaviour with interpersonal goals.
Driving Continuous Improvement Champion internal customer focus by optimally speaking publicly with stakeholders and employees, evaluating feedback, and taking action for continuous improvement. They will supply the development of the HR Consultancy model and case management system, support new employment policies, and ensure ServiceNow classifications meet business MI requirements. The role includes identifying and implementing initiatives to enhance HR advice quality, proactively seeking customer input, and proposing changes to improve service delivery.
Relationship Management Work closely with people leaders across all functions and geographies to understand S&N business needs and objectives, providing HR support aligned with corporate policies at country, cluster, and regional levels. They will ensure employee relations and performance proposals clearly articulate the desired business outcomes and objectives for any interventions.
What will you need to be successful? The ideal candidate will possess a degree or equivalent, alongside an HR qualification, and demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development. They should have a strong solid understanding of employment laws and practices specific to a particular region or country and significant HR experience, ideally within a Shared Services HR model. Proficiency in Workday, other HR management systems, and MS Office software is crucial, along with strong database management, record-keeping skills, and analytical capabilities. The candidate must have excellent communication and social skills, be innovative, proactive, and adaptable, and show integrity in all business interactions. Relevant language skills and cultural awareness are also required, depending on the region or country.
Key competencies include substantial business acumen with the ability to translate strategy into action plans, a shown HR background with expertise in HR practices, and strong analytical skills to synthesize data and develop recommendations. The candidate should be capable of working independently with minimal guidance, able to reach agreements despite differing priorities, and proficient in leading and handling change. Team skills are crucial, with the ability to work successfully both as a team member and independently, fostering teamwork and accountability, and handling well across a matrix organization.
Problem-solving skills are important, with the ability to analyze situations, apply critical thinking, and evaluate constraints and risks to select viable solutions.
The candidate must have a reputation for delivering against project plans, anticipating and preventing problems, and persuading key stakeholders to drive results. They should be an effective communicator, able to articulate messages clearly, handle conflicts, and maintain confidence. A customer-focused mindset is crucial, with a dedication to meeting internal customer needs and using customer information to improve services. Overall, the candidate should demonstrate coaching capabilities to develop people managers and improve performance.
