Consulting & Generalist HR (Human Resources & Recruitment)
The HR Executive at Glades Guppy Packaging Malaysia plays a critical role in ensuring smooth and effective HR operations across recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and workforce development. This role supports the company's strategic goals by driving employee engagement, maintaining compliance with relevant labor standards, and supporting quality systems. The HR Executive will work closely with the management team to foster a positive, compliant, and efficient workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition & Workforce ManagementConduct end-to-end recruitment for both local and foreign hires, including job postings on platforms such as JobStreet and Indeed, screening candidates, and arranging interviews.
Manage the bulk hiring and onboarding processes for foreign workers, including conducting interviews abroad when necessary.
Collaborate with department heads to assess staffing requirements and manage production operator schedules in compliance with local labor laws.
Employee Relations & EngagementServe as the point of contact for employee grievances, resolve workplace issues professionally, and manage domestic inquiries, including handling cases related to absenteeism, misconduct, and harassment.
Support a positive work environment by organizing engagement activities, open communication sessions, and addressing concerns regarding employee morale and well-being.
Implement a robust appraisal system, conducting performance reviews every six months to determine increments and promotions.
Set and monitor KPIs for various departments, ensuring alignment with company objectives and fostering productivity.
Support succession planning by identifying potential talent and facilitating training for future leadership roles.
Compliance & Policy ImplementationEnsure compliance with the Employment Act, Sedex/SMETA, BRCGS Issue 6, and FSCcoc standards, maintaining updated policies on working hours, wages, anti-discrimination, and anti-human trafficking.
Conduct gap assessments and audits to ensure alignment with customer compliance requirements and industry standards.
Develop, implement, and review HR policies that promote ethical practices and equal opportunities.
Training & DevelopmentIdentify employee training needs and coordinate relevant programs, including certification audits, skill advancement in leadership, LEAN methodologies, and supply chain knowledge.
Support one-on-one training for succession candidates, ensuring a smooth transition and knowledge transfer in key roles.
Oversee payroll processing using HR2000, ensuring accuracy in E-payslip distribution and managing employee records in a paperless format.
Administer the company's benefits program, including bonus schemes, medical benefits, birthday and new-born gifts, and employee insurance, to enhance motivation and retention.
Develop and manage salary structures based on experience, education, and skills to ensure competitive compensation.
Health, Safety & Quality SystemsCollaborate with the Administration and Safety teams to ensure a safe working environment in line with occupational safety regulations and company policies.
Actively involve employees in quality assurance processes, aligning with BRCGS Issue 6 standards, and ensure compliance through regular audits.
HR Information Systems & ReportingMaintain accurate HR data in compliance with privacy laws and generate monthly reports for HR metrics such as turnover, absenteeism, and recruitment effectiveness.
Facilitate the transition to a paperless system, providing training and support to employees, including guidance for elderly employees and foreign workers.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
Education:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:Minimum of 3 years in a similar HR role, with experience in employee relations, compliance management, and foreign worker recruitment preferred.
Skills:Strong understanding of local labor laws, SMETA and BRCGS standards, and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in HR software such as HR2000, along with experience in digitizing HR processes.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
