Within theHealth & Safetyteam composed of2people and reporting to SafetyManager , you will be responsible forensuring HSEQ compliance, supporting sustainability efforts, driving safe operations, and promoting continuous improvement.Responsible for identifying, assessing, and advising on risks arising from the workplace or work processes, recommending measures to eliminate or minimize the risks by implementing control measures.
He/She is also responsible for preventing or reducing health and environmental risks and improving the quality of processes.
Responsible for ensuring the operational activities are in line with statutory requirements, company policy, and industrial standard practices in relation to HSE, and also responsible for the effective implementation of international standard management systems (ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO45001).
Expected to supervise the functional team for health, safety, environment, and quality, and to work with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish his/her work.
Provide assistance, guidance, and interpretation to management in all relevant areas of safety, risk management, environment, and related legislation.
Enforce the company's HSE policies and procedures in line with the provisions of the Occupational Safety & Health Act 1994 (Amendment 2022), Environmental Quality Act (EQA 1974), and other relevant Acts and Regulations being subscribed by the company.
Governance of HSE plan (preparation, implementation, maintenance, and administration of plan towards completion).
Reporting and monitoring HSE performance (lagging and leading indicators).
Governance of standard management systems (implementation and maintenance) to ensure the operational site is performed in accordance with international standard management systems.
Tasks/Roles:
Review, update, and communicate for implementation of HSE and IMS documents (internal - plan, manual, IMS procedures, instructions; external - client, legislation, third party).
Drive workplace activities to ensure compliance with relevant requirements.
Identify, coordinate, and conduct programs and learning activities to enhance HSE standards and practices.
Identify and assess the risk of company activities and mitigate significant risks to an acceptable level.
Recommend process and product safety features that will reduce employees' exposure to physical and other work hazards.
Liaise on HSE issues that arise.
Analyze root causes and address areas of non-conformance to HSE standards through corrective actions.
Investigate industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures.
Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment periodically to identify potential hazards, propose controls, and ensure safety regulation compliance.
Coordinate the internal and external audit plan and schedules for health, safety, environment, and quality management systems (IMS).
Evaluate risk factors that impact efficiency.
Facilitate discussions on WSH reports and findings.
Identify, plan, and coordinate HSE programs based on preset objectives and targets.
Maintain and ensure all safety, health, and environment records are legibly kept and made available.
Supervise and monitor the HSE compliance of project and IBS sites.
Provide timely reports of all HSE leading and lagging indicators.
Qualifications:
Candidates must possess at least a Degree in Engineering or equivalent with a minimum qualification of Site Safety Supervisor (DOSH-certified SSS).
Candidates holding a DOSH-certified Safety & Health Officer (SHO) qualification will have an added advantage.
Minimum of 6 years working experience in HSE field with 1-3 years experience in site safety supervision.
Good English communication skills with the ability to interact with people at all levels.
Sound knowledge of International Standard Management Systems; ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.
Good knowledge of Google platform applications (Google Sheets, Slides, Docs, Meets, Sites).
Strong leadership skills, analytical abilities, and observant nature.
