THE ROLE: AMD's Immigration team is seeking an insightful, passionate, driven, adaptable, and technically proficient individual to join our collaborative and close-knit team. We are looking to add a new member to this team with specific focus on our APAC region, at a time of continued growth for our company.
THE PERSON: This critical role requires direct interactions with employees and managers, and various stakeholders including Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, and all business units. You will work with employees, stakeholders, and outside counsel to process visas and legal permanent residence cases through their entire lifecycle. It also includes significant involvement in work permits processes, program compliance, designing process flows and policies, and working on reports. Your efforts will align with legal, industry, and AMD best practices and play a vital part in supporting our commitment to providing best-in-class service for AMD's foreign national population. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with and monitor case initiations and renewal of work permits, residence permits and various immigration cases in APAC (Employment Pass, S Pass, Temporary Skill Shortage Visa (Subclass 482), Chinese/Hong Kong/Japanese/Taiwanese work permits, sponsor licenses, JTKSM pre-approval, permanent residence applications, etc.Act as a liaison with employees, managers, directors, human resources, global mobility, and talent acquisition to process change of employer work permit applications, work/residence permit renewals, change of status requests, and permanent residency processing.Assist outside immigration vendor with obtaining necessary information for temporary visa and permanent residency processing.Assist with reviewing visa petitions and other applications prepared by outside vendor.Assist employees and candidates with gathering and preparing the documentation needed for work / residence permit applications and visa stamping.Advise employees and managers on immigration policies and procedures.Assist with special projects and other administrative duties as needed including, but not limited to customizing reports, developing trackers, auditing documents, and posting legal notices. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Experience in corporate immigration experience with knowledge obtained via corporate experience or working at a law firm.APAC immigration experienceMulti region global visa knowledgeStrong interest in the legal field, particularly immigration and global mobility and expanding knowledge and responsibilities in casework preparation.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to multitask using analytical and problem-solving skills within a fast-paced environment with competing demands.Ability to demonstrate attention to detail and strong organizational and data entry skills.
