The Instrument & Controls expert will provide support to operations in East Asia Pacific (EAP) Cluster, focusing on maintenance optimization and Root Cause Analysis, while ensuring the effective implementation of IMS and the latest Group Standards at the local level. In this role, they will also lead the Industrial Program within their area of expertise. As an expert, they will share their knowledge with colleagues and ensure that Group standards and requirements are updated accordingly.
How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?Be a key stakeholder of safety at sites.
Update Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as needed.
Validate modifications within the area of expertise.
Ensure that the Integrated Management System (IMS) is effectively implemented.
Specifically, ensure that the EIS Safety Protection Loops are well-maintained, tested, and readily available.
Review past incidents to identify trends and opportunities for improving reliability.
Create Reliability Flash reports for significant reliability events in the domain, circulate them, inform relevant entities, and track the closure of actions.
Contribute to vulnerability and sustainability studies;
Ensure thorough Root Cause Analysis and knowledge capitalization.
Conduct an Annual Review of Expertise at each plant.
Support the preparation for Turn-Arounds, particularly in Method Statements, spare parts, and supplier selection.
Act as a Design Authority in the field, playing a key role in the Management of Change process.
Prioritize, follow up on, and close critical reliability initiatives and programs set by the Group (e.g., L1 CARE, Reliability Flash reports, Reliability Near-Miss actions, Expert review actions).
Champion the Reliability program for underperforming plants based on SCORE Methodology during Entity Technical Review Meetings.
Manage local leaders in Instrument & Controls workshops; Enhance the Training & Qualification program for site teams within the area of expertise.
Perform other activities deemed necessary within the area of expertise as directed by the manager.
Are you a MATCH?Degree in Instrumentation and Controls Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years of engineering and maintenance experience in Oil and Gas, Chemicals, Power Generation or Petrochemicals Industry is essential.
The ideal candidate should possess a solid understanding of the tools necessary for conducting Root Cause Analysis and Failure Modes.
Experience in writing root cause investigation reports that include clear executive summaries, actionable items, and recommendations.
Familiarity with Asset Management practices is a plus.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for effective interaction with all organizational levels and contractors.
