The Intermediate Concept Artist is able to maintain and manage high levels of quality while working in a rapid, rigorous, and timely manner; has advanced/intermediate texturing and/or concept art and illustration experience in addition to knowledge of art processes and production pipeline.Job Responsibilities
Work with the Art Director to design a wide variety of building and character assets.
Sketch, color, and present Concept Art from which 3D artists will build in-game content.
Create original character concepts including character sheets, movement studies, and detailed breakdowns for equipment and weapons.
Develop environmental concepts including mood paintings, architectural drawings, and prop concepts.
Collaborate with the production team on game assets.
Able to create character/creature concepts including character sheets and detailed callouts of equipment and weapons.
Excellent illustration skills and a deep understanding of human/creature anatomy, color theory, values, form, shape language, and silhouette.
Strong understanding of digital content creation tools such as Photoshop, Painter, etc.
Contribute effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Continually refine personal artistic abilities and knowledge of new software packages and in-house tools.
Work efficiently and effectively within technical constraints of production while generating high-quality artwork that matches/exceeds studio standards.
Ability to visualize and conceive objects, characters, or other elements in a way that contributes to the overall visual quality of the production.
Communicate regularly with the Lead Artist regarding the status of current tasks; obtain Lead Artist's guidance and approval as required to advance tasks, project initiatives, and milestones.
Perform miscellaneous job-related tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements
3-5 years professional experience as a concept artist and/or illustrator.
Expert in at least three areas of 3D artistic production.
High level of drawing and illustration skills, able to work in both digital and traditional mediums.
High understanding of human anatomy, perspective, lighting, and rendering.
Ability to visualize and interpret other people's ideas.
Proficient with the software packages and tools of the games industry.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment.
Able to produce high-quality refined promotional marketing art.
Ability to visualize perspective and 3-dimensional space.
A keen interest in design, architecture, film, and games.
Up to date with the latest industry trends and visual designs.
