POSITION OVERVIEW:
Internships focus on entry-level general work experience for university students who are still figuring out their career options and collecting practical experience mostly during the semester breaktime.
It is a professional learning experience that offers meaningful, practical, project-based work related to a student's field of study or career interest.
Internships offer students the opportunity for career exploration, professional development, and skills building.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Service Deliveries
Support the measurement and delivery of service levels and SLA/KPI targets.
Provide operational and management support on cash application, credit management, collection management, including debt and dispute issue resolution, Month-end reporting and reconciliation including open AR clearing, and bad debt and provision analysis.
With a customer focus mindset, work collaboratively within the team, support the engagement & interaction within the finance community, and highlight any issues timely to the line manager for further resolution.
Maintain a good relationship with key stakeholders.
Process incoming payments, reconcile account receivables and remittances, and address payment issues or other discrepancies.
Perform bank reconciliation and clearing, ensuring timely resolution and clean-up of overdue items identified.
Perform blocked order operations and credit control activities.
Maintain proper accounting of financial transactions and ensure accounting specific questions are well addressed and highlighted to the line manager for further resolution.
Support resolution General Accounting pertaining to AR & TCM related issues and disputes, escalate as required or coordinate with various departments.
Compliance
Adhere to all policies and procedures, in line with Alcon standards and consistent with best practices as well as aligned with the Global Blueprint (when applicable).
Comply with Accounting Manual, Financial Controls Manual and regulatory requirements and implementation in internal guidelines.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
Education
Talented and ambitious students or recent graduates with a Diploma in Accounting or those who are finalists in University Bachelor's Degree or certification programs for accountancy (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA, etc.)
Languages
Mandarin & English:We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
Skills/Experience
Understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.
Demonstrate ability to adapt to new tasks, technologies, and methodologies with a quick learning curve.
Demonstrate basic interpersonal and communication skills.
