Engineering - Hardware (Information & Communication Technology)
Design and Development:Create and implement IoT-based systems tailored for smart farming applications, including sensor networks, data acquisition modules, and communication protocols.
Integration:Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate IoT solutions with existing agricultural equipment and software platforms.
Data Management:Develop and maintain data processing pipelines to collect, analyze, and visualize real-time agricultural data, facilitating informed decision-making.
Automation Control Systems:Develop and implement automation control systems for agricultural processes, such as irrigation, nutrient delivery, and climate control, to optimize crop yield and resource efficiency.
Testing and Optimization:Conduct field tests to ensure system reliability and performance, and refine solutions based on feedback and observed outcomes.
Documentation:Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including system designs, user manuals, and maintenance guides.
Support and Maintenance:Provide ongoing support for deployed IoT systems, troubleshoot issues, and implement necessary updates or improvements.
Technical SkillsKnowledge of programming languages such as Python or C/C++.
Experience with IoT platforms and protocols (e.g., MQTT, CoAP).
Knowledge of sensor technologies and wireless communication systems (e.g., LoRa, Zigbee, NB-IoT).
Familiarity with cloud services and data analytics tools such as cloud platforms (e.g., AWS IoT, Azure IoT).
Microcontroller Experience: Proficiency in working with microcontrollers and development boards such as Arduino and ESP32, including programming and interfacing with sensors and actuators.
Embedded Systems Programming: Knowledge of firmware development for embedded devices, with hands-on experience in real-time data collection and wireless communication.
Familiarity with RS485 communication protocol for sensor and device integration.
Experience with network security and data encryption.
Additional SkillsProblem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems and develop innovative solutions.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Requirements:Candidate should be Malaysian citizens only.
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak Mandarin and English (as required to liaise with Mandarin-speaking clients due to work nature).
Experience in IoT system development, with a focus on applications in agriculture or related industries.
Experience in precision agriculture technologies and smart farming practices.
Understanding of agricultural processes and challenges.
