Job Purpose: Ensuring the stability, availability, and optimal performance of critical applications used by the organization.Expertise in application support, troubleshooting, and incident management will be essential in addressing complex issues and providing effective solutions. Serve as a mentor to junior team members, sharing your knowledge and best practices. Key Responsibilities: Application Support and Incident Management: Provide advanced technical support for critical business applications, investigating and resolving complex issues within agreed service level agreements (SLAs).Serve as the primary point of contact for high-priority incidents, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing business impact.Collaborate with development teams and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve application-related issues, including system failures, performance bottlenecks, and data inconsistencies.Conduct root cause analysis to identify underlying problems and implement preventive measures to mitigate future incidents.Monitor application performance, proactively identify potential issues, and implement optimizations to enhance system stability and reliability Technical Expertise and Knowledge Sharing: Stay updated on the latest technologies, industry trends, and best practices related to application support and troubleshooting.Serve as a subject matter expert on supported applications, providing guidance and mentoring to junior support engineers.Share knowledge and best practices with the team through training sessions, documentation, and knowledge base contributions.Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and interoperability of applications and systems. Change Management and Release Coordination: Coordinate application releases, including planning, testing, and deployment, in collaboration with development and infrastructure teams.Participate in change management processes, assessing the impact of changes on application stability and availability.Conduct impact assessments and provide recommendations for change requests to ensure minimal disruption to production environments.Implement and enforce release management best practices and procedures. Problem Management and Continuous Improvement: Lead problem management efforts, analyzing recurring incidents and identifying underlying problems or gaps in application functionality.Initiate and drive initiatives to address systemic issues, improve application performance, and enhance user experience.Collaborate with development teams to prioritize and implement bug fixes, patches, and enhancements.Contribute to the continuous improvement of application support processes, tools, and methodologies. Stakeholder Management and Communication: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including business users, IT teams, vendors, and management.Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on incident resolution, application changes, and project statuses.Ensure timely and accurate communication during critical incidents, including status updates, impact assessments, and resolution plans.Collaborate with business users to understand their requirements, gather feedback, and propose solutions to enhance application usability and functionality. IT Project Support Involve in IT project, assuming the role of Applications Work Stream Leader as requiredProvide input as requested by users/vendor. Liaise with vendors and users. IT Disaster Recovery Plan Execution: Perform simulation of disaster recovery procedures.Develop procedures to be used for disaster recovery testing.Execute ITDRP for MFUND, Antares & OneSolution. Key Requirements: 5 years' experience in data processing, developing and / or writing programs with VB, UNIX, NT, ORACLE or Windows operating environment.Diploma or Degree in Computer Science or equivalentPerforms a range of functions in areas such as complex applications systems design: applications programming, database design, conversion, implementation, performance measurement and evaluation.
