IT services and facilities monitoring: The Personnel shall monitor the our clients IT system and IT infrastructure availabilities using tools or systems identified by our client, To perform environmental monitoring (especially humidity and temperature); The Personnel shall monitor the Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) equipment related to server room using any system identified by Bour client such Air Conditioning Units, Power Distribution Unit (PDU) and Rack Monitoring System; The Personnel shall immediately escalate any problems to all relevant parties.
They shall record and track status of issues until resolved; and The Personnel shall also responsible to record and sign-off of all shift log entries and checklist in timely manner for handover to the next shift.
ii.
Backup management and operations: To monitor application infrastructure during backup processing using any system identified by our client Responsible in performing batch processing and restoration related duties and functions; and Perform first level troubleshooting of system problems and logging all related problems into helpdesk call centre.
To record and track status of system issues until resolved.
iii.
Tape library and media tapes management: Assist in media management such as media readiness, weekly courier services, preparation of media disposal and media retrieval from data centres as and when requested by support staff; and Perform first level troubleshooting of tape library or media tape problems,logging all related problems into helpdesk call centre and to record and track status of tape library or media tape issues until resolved.
iv.
Facilities and IT management activities: To manage all access activities in/out of the data centres and maintain the environment and safety/security precautions in data centres areas.The Personnel shall enforce security procedures and policies for entry into the Location (DCC, RC and Klang Valley Offices) and server room; Manage all keys rack movement and ensure that key(s) are returned at the end of the activity; To accompany the service provider (vendor) for any system maintenance, troubleshooting and equipment replacement at the Location (DCC, RC and HQ-3B) and other location such as Sasana Kijang, Lanai Kijang, Tunas Kijang, ACC and MINT.
To perform PCs and IP phones health check at the Location (DCC & RC) in regular basis; To adhered to the organisations policies, procedures and standards; and To keep update and seek information with senior support or supervisor of new applications or services.
v. IT Disaster Recovery (DR) management and readiness: To familiarize with operations during business contingency plan or disaster environment; and to assist in providing administrative services during application or combined live runs activities.
vi.
IT equipment placement and disposal management: Logistic preparation for new equipment placement.
Collaborate with respective parties on the placement requirement; and to assist support staff on IT equipment, decommission and disposal activities.
vii.
Administrative works: To assist in administrative related works as such as prepare documentation, incident or problem reports and management reports; To perform equipment and tape inventory and housekeeping at data centres; To update the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to data centre operations; To assist shift supervisor in establishing new procedures and standards related to data centre operations; and To keep and update the documents in shared folders and shall be accessible to all data centre supports.
viii.
Undertake duties given by any senior support or shift supervisor and also to perform relief duties in the absence of any operation officers.
ix.
The work shall be performed by skilled personnel and positive attitudes.
The Personnel shall also familiar with all our client Data Centres operations.
