About the role We are seeking an experienced IT Operations Manager to join our team at UOB Kay Hian Securities (M) Sdn Bhd. This is a full-time position based on Penang Island, Penang. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our IT infrastructure and ensuring the seamless delivery of technology services to our business.
What you'll be doing 1. Lead, Manage and Monitor of IT Servers and Systems i. Plan, Manifest, Oversight and Implementation of Company IT Strategy & Road Map for IT BAU operations and support.
ii. To drive the development of UOBKH M'sia IT infrastructure & support necessary in a proactive manner that supports client's needs and further UOBKHM needs / interests.
iii. Monitoring the organization's servers, networks, and computer systems for irregularities and performance issues.
iv. Assesses system data and error logs, along with user reports, to determine areas for improvement or repair.
v. To determine when systems or servers are due for upgrades.
vi. Manage the Information Technology inter-phase across UOBKH M'sia and HQ (where necessary).
vii. Ensure full compliant of various internal and external Regulatory & Compliance requirements.
2. Direct IT Technicians i) To directing the activities of IT technicians, both to directly support end users and to assist with IT department upgrades and directives.
ii) To lead a team of front-end (trading), back-end (back/middle office) systems & applications supports and Network Infrastructure ie. Manage server room and various system/ hardware related to trading (Market data infrastructure and/or order management) as well as Business Continuity Needs (BCP)
iii) To assess current department needs and help desk inquiries and assigns personnel to resolve each issue.
iv) To develop and implement technician schedules for supporting business requirements
3. Develop and Monitor Department Policies and Budget i) To develop service level requirements for the help desk.
ii) To develop guides for users and technicians, such as FAQ documents or employee handbooks for IT department personnel.
iii) Manage technology operating expenses and budget for IT Ops ie. Budget on IT Ops spending, forecast & projection (OPEX and CAPEX)
4. Resolve Help Desk Escalations i) To devise a solution to the problem, which could include equipment replacement or repair if the problem is related to the end user's hardware or software.
ii) To oversee all IT related areas of UOBKH M'sia business, implementing any operational changes and delivering measurable by sourcing new systems to automate and operationalize the processes
5. Negotiate Vendor Contracts i) To assesses department and business needs related to equipment and services and presents them to vendors.
ii) To compares pricing and vendor bids with budget, determines which vendors offer the most advantageous terms, and negotiates rates with those vendors.
iii) To negotiate contracts with IT service providers
iv) To evaluate, review and manage IT vendors and solutions as well as service providers, which includes establishing and regularly tracking service level agreements and matrices
What we're looking for Degree in IT/Computer Science or relevant certifications.Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server Operation System preferably Microsoft Certified Professional.Good knowledge of PC hardware and Microsoft Windows/Office with strong networking knowledge. Certified in CCNA or equivalent would be an added advantage.Experience with MS SQL/MySQL databases.Knowledge of Microsoft server is an added advantage.Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision with good time-management skills to meet tight deadlines.Strong analytical & problem solving skills.Team player, self-motivated, independent and positive working attitude.Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skill.Knowledge in Banking / Stock Broking / Unit Trust will be advantageous.
