About you:
We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Junior Data Scientist to join our internal Data Solutions team within the Global Technology Services group. This is an exciting opportunity to grow and learn as a Data Scientist whilst tackling a wide array of technical problems in a global software organisation. You will be part of an expanding international team that supports our colleagues and customers, giving them the freedom to do more.
You are an enthusiastic early career Data Scientist focused on delivering value. Eager to develop both technical and non-technical skills, you are passionate about data and the evolving technology used to leverage it. You value group knowledge sharing and thrive in collaborative learning environments. With strong communication skills, you effectively interact with both technical and non-technical colleagues. You are keen to engage directly with business colleagues to understand their problems and develop innovative technical solutions.
Please note that this role will require working hours to be shifted approximately 3 days per week to partially align with the UK working hours.
Day-to-day, you will:
Develop technical solutions to complex problems across a diverse data estate. These could be leveraging data science techniques, statistical approaches, data melding, or other strategies.
Build your skillset as a Data Scientist: technical skills, stakeholder management, project management, etc.
Build an understanding of The Access Group, our products, our business processes and our strategy.
Spend time with your stakeholders, forming great relationships with them and becoming a trusted partner.
Your skills and experiences might also include:
Strong data science and statistics skills.
Good Python skills and experience with Python data science libraries and tools (e.g., Pandas, Scikit Learn, etc.).
Good SQL skills, primarily for data extraction.
Strong communication skills for interacting with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
A strong drive to develop and learn.
Nice to have:
Experience using PySpark on Databricks, or a similar platform.
Experience with GIT version control software.
