The Jr. Accountant, Accounting will be responsible for performing accounting activities like preparation and posting Journal entries, working on SAP accounting modules and support Sr. Accountant in other transactional activities. Responsible person will be working out of Kuala Lumpur Shared Service Center accounting organization to produce timely, reliable and accurate financial information in accordance with Local GAAP of relevant APAC countries and US GAAP.
Core Responsibilities:
Prepare Journal entries and ensure correct accounting information is uploaded in the system.
Check the correctness of Journal entries provided by business teams to mark the corrections to relevant teams.
Work on SAP accounting modules like FA module, SAP, Cadency to ensure all financial numbers are input correctly and management reporting is accurate.
Prepare fixed asset schedules, balance sheet schedules in a timely manner and keep a repository of the same to be ready for review at times required by management or auditing teams.
Review and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation.
Prepare trial balance for account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation in cadency.
Prepare bank reconciliation statements by comparing bank statements against ledger transactions.
Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets and assist the auditors in their inquiries.
Assist senior accountant while preparation of various reconciliations by ensuring correct period data is downloaded from system and correct mapping has been done to minimize open item or error.
Qualified candidates will have:
Mandatory requirements:
A diploma/bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
2-3 years of work experience in finance or related field
Able to communicate in English
Required behaviors and skills:
Self-motivated, detail oriented and analytical mindset with stakeholder management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to work in a team environment, build consensus and foster positive relationships.
Knowledge of MS Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Experience in SAP, Cadency, would be an added advantage.
Good understanding of cost accounting processes.
