The kitchen helper is assigned particular tasks in the kitchen required for the preparation of dishes. He/she is expected to follow implicit orders. The kitchen helper may either be assigned to cook a full dish or carry out a particular function required in the preparation.**Main responsibilities**:- Following and fulfilling the duties given by the senior chefs- Keeping their stations clean and well stocked with the ingredients required to cook the dish that they are ordered to prepare- Keeping the kitchen clean and sanitized- Fulfilling duties on time so as not to delay the preparation of the dish- Use ingredients in the right proportion and be aware of the exact procedure of preparation of food**Skills Needed**:- Understanding orders clearly and basic culinary skills- Ability to work swiftly and efficiently- Good sense of taste and smell- Ability to perform any function around the kitchen- Must be able to deliver high quality work- Knowledge about the different cooking equipments and ingredients- Ability to remain balanced and work under emergency situations and pressure- Ability to work well in a group- Ability to stand in hot places all day long**Job Requirements**:- Career seeking, looking for full time, long term employment.- Previous restaurant experience is preferred- Able to communicate both written and verbally- No previous felonies or convictions- Basic culinary skills and the ability to learn such skills- Must be able to get along and work well with others (friendly, personable, team player)- Good communication skills; conflict resolution experience preferred- Ability to follow oral and written instructions with the ability to read, interpret and present information effectively- Self-motivating, having the ability to function under limited supervision- Ability to take initiative, multi-task and work well under pressure- Receptive to positive and critical feedback- Ability and willingness to keep a flexible schedule, working outside a set schedule (due to events or special occasions)**Salary**: From RM1,700.00 per month**Benefits**:- Maternity leave- Parental leaveSchedule:- Day shift- Evening shiftAbility to commute/relocate:- Bukit Bintang: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)**Education**:- STM/STPM (preferred)**Experience**:- Kitchen Staff: 2 years (required)
