Responsibilities Perform laboratory tests including pre- and post-analytic phasesPrepare samples/specimensProduce accurate and reliable data and interpret resultsFollow methodologies in carrying routine tasksResearch relevant topics and gather information/dataAdhere to correct procedures, policies and health/safety guidelinesKeep abreast of all industry developments and best practicesDocument all activities, record results and insert/retrieve dataMaintain work area and equipmentProvide administrative assistanceResponsible for all aspects of work relating to field sampling and laboratory analysisTo maintain good housekeeping within laboratoryTo perform any other duties that may be assigned by the immediate superior from time to time Requirements and skills Proven working experience as a Lab AssistantFamiliarity with automated laboratory equipmentComputer literacy and experience with Laboratory Information SystemsAccuracy and close attention to detailStrong analytical judgementCurrent licence or relevant certificationDiploma, Advance/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Post Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Science & Technology or equivalentShow good self initiative, hardworking and able to work in a dynamic environmentMature, able to work independently under minimum supervision
