We are looking to hire a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our Data Center business based at our Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) office. In general, this role will provide technical support particularly in mechanical engineering with emphasis on HVAC for the Data Centers in Malaysia and more generally across the Asia Region; working with the Technical Director in the business development and marketing of the Group capabilities; and managing project inputs and ensure the project budget and controls are in place.
ResponsibilitiesEnsure that consistent quality standards and conformance with design plans/specifications are maintained across the project and coordination with other disciplines to ensure consistency across the project.
Write technical reports and specifications including functional descriptions for Mechanical systems.
Engage with engineers, drafting, and design staff to fulfill deliverables.
Lead and attend project/site meetings with Client, PM, and Consultants from other disciplines.
Liaise and coordinate relevant technical issues with other disciplines.
Cultivate and build relationships with clients generally as a Doer/Seller role.
Support site supervision and plant commissioning activities when required.
Help prepare proposals and bids.
QualificationsTo be a successful candidate, you shall possess:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering recognized by the Board Of Engineers Malaysia.
Professional Engineer registration would be an added advantage.
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience to perform engineering tasks on the mechanical services detailed design (including calculations, computer simulations, specifications, etc.), particularly in Data Center projects.
Knowledge of relevant Local Building Codes and international standards to ensure compliance.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working with BIM and 3D models would be an added advantage.
