JOB TITLE: LEAD PETROLEUM ENGINEERMAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To lead well surveillance and reservoir management capability for Petrofac Malaysia. This will involve responsibility to deliver production against plan, monitoring and analyzing day-to-day production performance of the fields operated in PM304 block, troubleshooting and rectification of oil production losses as well as long term strategic activities in terms of well placement, production enhancements and new field assessments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Stakeholder management through responsibility for delivery against plan and team performance, addressing queries to well performance and forward plan, reporting at stakeholder reviews and other ad-hoc requests.
Lead day-to-day surveillance program inclusive of coaching, quality check for analysis, troubleshooting and rectification of oil production losses.Monitor day-to-day oil production and advise on production catchup proposal to merge production gap.
Build, run and maintain well models to ensure all wells are produced at optimum condition.
Analyses daily production losses and summarize losses element on weekly basis.
Validate welltest data using Nodal Analysis software.
Preparation of short-term production target through Monthly Target Letter, integrating plan activity with Operation and Well Services Team.
Perform Monthly Fields and Wells Production Back Allocation.
Maintain Production Well Database to reflect valid latest available data in AVOCET and OFM.
Carry out weekly allocations of production and injection volumes.Lead proposal of protecting the base and production enhancement initiatives.Review well/field performances together with Reservoir Engineer and Geoscientists for optimum ultimate recovery, to recommend required workovers for production improvements.
Prepare single well models and network models (nodal analysis) and ensures all are validated and matched with the actual well data. Use these models to assist in production optimisation.
Analyse individual well gas lift performances and propose remedial activities.
Review historical well stimulation activities and recommend further activity if justified.
Analyse and define the cause of well performance failures and generates candidates for productivity enhancement; evaluate and justify.
Identify data gathering opportunities, evaluate and justify.
Create cost estimates and manage cost, schedule and quality of the respective production enhancement services to be executed by service contractors.Provide petroleum engineering support for integrated team efforts to increase/maximize production, especially if there is requirement for special studies and/or well and network model update work.Provide key link between Subsurface, Drilling, Operations, Offshore and other parties in discussing issues related to well performance.
Participate in HAZOP's, risk assessments and other workshops as required for project execution.
Interface between the various disciplines in the Project team.
Close-out project for document archiving.ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Degree in Engineering from recognized university, preferably Petroleum Engineering.
Minimum 12 years working experience in similar position, preferably with an oil company.
Sound cross discipline skills with the understanding of geoscience through to reservoir engineering to petroleum engineering and well operations to process facilities and production chemistry.
Experienced in production enhancement justification and operations including: gas lift optimization, perforations, stimulation, sand, scale and wax removal.
Experienced in building and maintaining strong relationships with Stakeholders and Service Providers.
Skilled with software covering nodal analysis i.e. PROSPER, network analysis i.e. GAP, decline curve analysis i.e. OFM, pressure build up analysis i.e. KAPPA Saphir.
Analytical and interpretative skills / expertise in:Factors affecting well productivity and operation.
Multiphase flow modelling and prediction, including artificial lift design.
Completion architecture and design.
Field Optimisation.Well versed in Microsoft Offices (Excel, Words and Power Point).
Must be able generate ideas and then communicate/discuss idea within the group.
Able to work within small teams so strong teamwork ethic required.
Be able to provide suitable references (one character and one technical).
Willing to travel offshore and outside Malaysia as required.
Analytical and interpretative skill/expertise in petroleum engineering, production enhancement, and reservoir surveillance processes, workflows, and application.
Artificial lift design, execution, and evaluation proficiency with in-depth technical strength in gas lift application.
Good interpersonal skills, including ability to plan and present a coherent story to both direct reports as well as management and stakeholders.
