As we continue to expand and enhance our offerings, we are seeking a talented, driven and customer-focused Product Designer to join our dynamic team.
As a Product Designer in PayNet, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring all products and services meet and exceed standards around seamless and delightful experiences for our participants and their customers. You will be creating design frameworks from data-driven insights with human-centered principles, ensuring the product meets user needs and expectations.
This role will require you to:
Drive the set-up of a knowledge center around insights and behaviors regarding payments covering the wide spectrum of Malaysian consumers and businesses towards defining personas that PayNet can serve and provide value through our participants and partners which will then guide all our product managers in defining the segments and personas which their products would cater to.
Perform market research and benchmarks regarding seamless payment experiences and framing best practices towards incorporation into PayNet's UX design system across existing and new products which serves as guidance to our product managers towards designing APIs, plug-ins and SDKs which are user friendly and consistent across all participants.
Facilitate the discovery and co-creation of new use-cases and experiences with internal and external stakeholders by conducting design workshops, ideation sessions and user validation interviews towards building great UX & UI journeys.
You will craft great payment experiences, while also focusing on performance and scalability. You will think outside the box and bring first-principle thinking towards unlocking new segments of users and businesses. You will paint a vision for new concepts, design trends, and take an obsessive approach to detail. You will co-create and ideate with our participants on user design and experiences. You will provide thought leadership and user research insights to internal and external stakeholders towards designing user experiences that fit with PayNet's standard and framework.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct user research and interviews to identify important user needs, empathies with user's pain points, explore flows and iterate to define possible solutions to those pain points.
Shape design systems and frameworks towards designing consistent user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) across different products.
Deliver design projects that demonstrate meaningful interaction designs done with clarity and precision, solving complicated problems or workflows with incredibly simple and elegant flows.
Lead product design initiatives through collaboration with product managers, development engineers, data engineers and other stakeholders to implement innovative product solutions, visuals, and experiences that are usable and valuable.
Validate designs with product functionality and evaluate the design effectiveness based on user interviews and usability tests.
Present your work to peers, business stakeholders and leadership, async and in-person, in a clear and articulated manner, paired with great story-telling skills.
Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering.
Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards to participants and partners in the PayNet ecosystem.
Identify gaps in processes that require documentation to create efficiency.
Create and develop playbooks for design guidelines, standards, and templates.
Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements:
At least 8 years of relevant experience in UI/UX design.
Online portfolio of UI/UX design work which showcases your process and solutions and not just the finished product.
Bachelor's degree in UI/UX design, computer science, human computer interaction, or related fields.
Proven track record over multiple years as a senior designer responsible for value and usability of solutions, developing and executing a long-term design roadmap, and have taken ownership of a full product design vertical.
Product knowledge and strong desire and passion to learn and be up to date about the payments and fintech industry and the problems faced by users.
Demonstrated excellent understanding of design principles (typography, composition, hierarchy, proportion, patterning, color theory, etc.), knowledge of UX research methods, usability testing, prototyping, knowledge of visual design, user-centered experience design, interaction design and creative process.
Experience with design and prototyping software (we use Figma!).
Excellent communicator who is able to build working relationships within the team and externally.
Advantageous Skills:
You have experience with owning UI kits and design systems.
Analytical and can articulate design decisions very well. Worked with qualitative and quantitative usability measurement methodologies.
Able to lead design conversations based on understanding of how design impacts business.
Enthusiastic about designing digital products, and working on complex challenges.
Love to solve problems and be challenged.
Passionate about talking to users and stakeholders in order to understand their needs and pain points.
Growth mindset by delving into new technologies and new ways of doing things.
Good understanding of payment systems, technologies, and industry standards.
