Essential Responsibilities
• To manage and complete project in all aspects of project management, scope management, time management, cost and finance management, quality management, human resources management, risk and opportunity management, contract management, change management, site management, project mobilization/demobilization management while fully adhering to EHS and Compliance guidelines.
• Ensure assigned specific targets in terms of on time delivery, cash and margin, quality risk and opportunity, are achieved and improved.
• To interface both technically and commercially with customers.
• Co-ordinate and liaise with all internal project stakeholders (engineering department, sourcing and logistics department, service department, accounting and finance department, supplier and sub-contractors).
• To prepare necessary project reports and lead project reviews with sector & customer as necessary
• To prepare, update, attend and Conduct Internal Monthly Progress Meeting of Project handle with the adoption of internal Monthly Progress Meeting Software, Format and adhere to the procedures and guidelines.
• Set-up and drive a project and site organisation teams (multi-site, multi-units). Anticipate, allocate & optimize Project resource (technical leader, PM, site, finance, contract, planner, etc..).
• Manage multicultural / multi-location teams, coach & give feedback in a multicultural environment
• Take responsibility for all aspects of site and construction management with full compliance to EHS policies.
• Responsible for Quality Control Management, Resource Management, Document Control/Management, Time Management of Contract Major Deliverables and Completion Date.
• To prepare and update sales forecast, billing forecast for project(s) handle on monthly and quarterly basis.
• To prepare and update collection status against billing done and due for project(s) handled on monthly and quarterly basis.
• To lead in the monthly collection against billing done.
• Responsible in technical and commercial closing of project(s) handle upon receive of Provisional Acceptance Certificate (PAC) and Final Acceptance Certificate (FAT) until the warranty period has expired both internal and external.
Role Summary/Purpose
To plan, manage and deliver engineering & construction projects from transfer through to Provisional Acceptance Certificate (PAC) or Final Acceptance Certificate (PAC) while delivering high levels of Customer satisfaction and maximum margin/value besides ensuring additional business opportunities are pursued.
Qualifications/Requirements
• Education / Experience
University degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
10 years minimum relevant experience in International Project activities for multi-disciplinary projects with good knowledge of technical and contractual requirements of large construction Projects especially Utility related Substation of Voltage Rating of 275kV or higher. Following skillsets are desirable:
• Project Management in an international environment, preferably of projects within a consortium or partnership setup
• Experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams with multiple interfaces and high local content
• Experience of team building and team culture development
• Proven track record of significant improvement of project margin
• Management of projects with severe financial, technical and commercial risk
• Experience of P&L objectives
• Willingness to work in different locations for short or medium periods and to travel world-wide
PMP certification would be added advantage.
• Specific knowledge
Knowledge of Electrical networks and technology used in related Power Transmission & Distribution (T&D) and specifically in High Voltage (275kV and above) Substation Projects involving AIS or GIS switchgear, transformers, related cable works etc.
Ability to lead, manage and organize multiple teams and activities, necessary staffing, development and training plan for the different teams.
Skills in planning, resource management, financial and legal/contractual aspects of project management.
Knowledge of project management tools, software and methodologies such as MS Project, Primavera etc.
An understanding and appreciation of International Standards (e.g. IEC).
• Business understanding
Good oral / written communication skills in English. Mandarin/Cantonese would be added advantage.
Operating rigour in large multinational organisation with regional, satellite teams and functional organisation set ups.
• Other Requirements
About 30-40% of working time will be at site especially during testing and commissioning.
To attend Weekly and/or Monthly Site Meetings, if required.
To attend Monthly Site Safety Meeting, if required.
Familiar with International Design Codes and the requirements and obligations under FIDIC contract conditions (or similar)
Having experience working with SEB in Sarawak and preferred anyone who is still actively working in the location.
The identified person must have the ability to manage projects independently which are classified “Complex” according to GE GS Project Management guidelines and identified as “strategic” by management, 1.) With a strategic customer in terms of secured and potential contracts or target market. 2.) That constitutes a severe financial, technical and commercial risk & opportunities, 3.) The impact of the project will have a significant effect at GS Sector level, 4.) A multi-Unit project, where PD/PM is the leader, 5.)Operating within an international environment with many complex internal and external interfaces
