The World's Largest Sports Retailer is recruiting passionate sports people to join our team as our Legal Counsel-Corporate.
Responsibilities:
Provide pragmatic legal advice on day-to-day legal queries from various business units, including commercial, digital and marketing, logistics, finance and human resources.
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts related to the company's operations, including procurement agreements, service agreements, warehousing and logistics agreements, IT and SaaS agreements, and maintain a library of template agreements.
Support employment issues and disputes.
Monitor and ensure compliance with requirements set forth by relevant regulatory bodies or authorities or as determined by the Decathlon Group.
Lead the implementation of compliance programs, including anti-corruption, data protection, social and human rights, anti-competition, and other compliance matters.
Liaise with the company secretary on general company law requirements and filings.
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of relevant legal developments, sharing knowledge within the company and initiating changes to business operations if necessary.
Promote risk management, compliance with applicable policies and procedures, relevant legislation, and effective corporate governance.
Cost-effectively outsource and manage outsourced legal services as required.
Be the liaison with local authorities as needed.
Advise and manage the resolution of disputes and litigation matters.
Conduct legal trainings and refresher courses as required.
Perform any other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in law.
Sportive.
Minimum 5 years in-house working experience; retail industry is preferred.
Strong technical, drafting, research, and analytical skills with practical commercial acumen.
Experience in implementing compliance programs, policies, and procedures is an added advantage.
Able to collaborate and influence stakeholders positively.
Able to work independently.
Ability to engage confidently and effectively with different people across various seniorities, expertise, roles, and cultures.
Willingness to take on leadership roles in Legal and Compliance projects.
Excellent communication skills and able to explain legal concepts, issues, and solutions to non-legal stakeholders simply and accurately.
Proficiency in local language and English (written and spoken).
Familiar with Google Workspaces and strong technical knowledge of local legislation.
Attentive to details and resourceful in problem-solving.
Able to establish priorities and execute time-sensitive projects within the given timeline.
