Coinut is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Counsel to join our legal team.
The Legal Counsel will support the legal team in providing guidance on regulatory compliance, commercial transactions, and risk management.Job Responsibilities
Assist in advising on regulatory requirements for operating within the cryptocurrency and blockchain sector.
Conduct research on legal and regulatory developments affecting the industry and prepare reports to inform the business.
Support the legal team in ensuring compliance with AML/KYC regulations, securities laws, and data protection requirements.
Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various commercial contracts, including service agreements, partnership agreements, and licensing deals.
Support the development and implementation of corporate governance policies and procedures.
Assist in corporate structuring efforts, including the formation of entities in different jurisdictions.
Ensure that corporate actions comply with legal requirements and best practices.
Handle any other legal matters as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Law and admitted to Malaysian Bar is an added advantage.
Minimum 5 years of working experience in the securities and financial industry, or regulatory bodies, or relevant experience in law firms.
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks surrounding digital assets, including securities laws, AML/KYC regulations, and data protection.
Strong legal drafting and negotiation skills, with a keen eye for detail.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to addressing legal challenges.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
