Legal Counsel

Job Description:We are looking to hire a Legal Counsel based in our Thailand office to be responsible for:Identifying and implementing steps to mitigate potential risks to ensure Shopee's business activities are compliant with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standardsAssist in developing, implementing and maintaining internal policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risks.Conduct legal assessments and/or support due diligence to assess legal risks for new products, features and/or programs.Supervise IP matters surfaced from the Shopee Brand PortalReviewing and responding to correspondence on IP-related mattersAdvising on IP complaints and complaint handling processesCommercial contract reviewsRequirements:The candidate for this position should have at least 8 years of post-qualification experience including at least 3 years of in-house experience, ideally as a generalist covering commercial contracts, IP, litigation and/or general compliance. This role would suit candidates who have a strong interest in the e-commerce industry, take a decisive, proactive and solutions-focused approach to legal issues, and enjoy interacting and collaborating closely with colleagues from both the Legal and Business Teams on a daily basis.
