Responsibilities for Logistic Department Head
Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services.
Direct, optimize and coordinate full order cycle. Upon receiving DI from PC, the logistics department is required to submit a report on the stock status in the logistics department to PC.
Liaise with the production supervisor and production department head on the production schedule.
Liaise with production control for the delivery instruction (DI) for every customer.
Keep track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs, and efficiency.
Resolve any arising problems or complaints (reply on the CAR issue by customer if any issues caused by packing and transport).
Supervise, coach, and train warehouse operators.
Meet cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets (min cost of packing, study SUT on packing, improve SUT on packing weekly).
Ensure the stocks take report by end month is carried out with an accuracy of 90% and above.
Review and study the non-moving stocks report; revert back to PC if any non-moving parts have been for more than 1 year.
Monitor 5S program activities and ensure the warehouse/store is clean and tidy.
Prepare closing stocks report (FGS) to account for every month-end.
Carry out weekly stock counts to avoid any shortages (variance qty from system).
Plan and arrange daily trips for all customers.
Monitor lorry drivers and ensure targeted trips are according to plan.
Day to day must monitor lorry driver GPS versus logbook.
Confirm enough trolleys, pallet mesh, and wooden boxes for packing.
Ensure all returnable trolleys and pallet mesh are collected from customers.
Monitor the outgoing and incoming of trolleys and pallet mesh to and from customers, especially PAPAMY and JCI.
Support clerical job: Print barcodes and labels, monthly orders, driver fuel and touch and go claims, overtime and leave forms.
Perform any other tasks assigned by superior from time to time.
Requirements for a Logistics Department Head
Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or related operations.
Strong understanding of logistics, supply chain, and inventory management systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to optimize operations.
Leadership and team management skills to oversee a diverse group of employees.
Strong communication and negotiation skills to work effectively with vendors and internal teams.
