Logistic Officer

The Logistic Officer's primary function is to manage, coordinate and monitor the inbound and outbound shipment by freight forwarders and couriers to meet agreed delivery terms while conforming to local and international trade regulations. This position requires daily interaction with multiple internal and external stakeholders to drive on time deliveries at competitive cost structures while maintaining a healthy service level.
This position will require a strong knowledge on import export clearance and ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders to drive service performance level.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
General Duties
Work with freight forwarders to provide solutions in terms of logistical activities pertaining to quality, cost, delivery lead time and after sales services to meet business requirement.Ensure timely and accurate flow of information and documentation to stakeholders to meet performance expectation.Review assigned requirement plans and determine appropriate means to meet requirements.Undertake other role & responsibilities that are assigned by immediate superior from time to time until full closure. Liaise with freight forwarders / couriers to obtain competitive freight rates to meet target delivery terms.Identify and source for potential freight forwarders for business partnership.Expedite supply solutions with freight forwarders for line down and component shortage scenario and communicate with stakeholders on action plans.Actively participate in activities pertaining to maintenance of data integrity in the ERP System.Monitor and track the performance scorecard of the freight forwarders and couriers.Actively participate in issues pertaining to ad-hoc logistic issues and drive for solutions and improvement.Collaboration with multiple stakeholders to implement process improvement to drive kaizen in the workplace. Trade Compliance
Engagement with customs and government authorities pertaining to trade compliance matter involving application and documentation submission, consultation, and negotiation.Compile and prepare LMW report for monthly submission.Promote and educate internal stakeholders on trade compliance and custom regulatory issues.Classify and provide interpretation on Harmonized Schedule Code to internal stakeholders. REQUIREMENTS / SKILLSET: Bachelor's degree in Logistic Management or equivalentMinimum of 3 years in Logistic / Shipping Officer roleMinimum of 2 years' experience in MRP / ERP systemExperience in launching a start-up company will be an advantageExtensive knowledge of freight forwarding and warehouse networkAbility to work independently and adapt to a fast paced and changing environmentGood communication skills in English
