As a logistics team member, you will develop, drive, and execute the logistics strategy.
Control logistics costs and improve the logistics operation & process to meet customer needs and company direction.
International Regulations & Trade ComplianceOversee to ensure shipments comply with Malaysia import/export regulations and customs requirements and provide guidance to stakeholders on compliance.
Support internal parties in identifying and monitoring regulatory changes affecting customs requirements in the country and translate changes into operational procedures.
Understand and provide guidance to internal parties on the anticipated impacts of shipping/logistics related to international trade.
Raise awareness among internal parties and stakeholders on the risks and responsibilities of INCOTERMS.
Shipping & TransportationMonitor and track the activity of shipments with logistics providers to ensure delivery/receiving arrangements are smoothly executed, meeting ISO and customer requirements & SOX compliance.
Engage with internal/external parties to resolve logistics obstacles or exception events to ensure safe and timely shipping of goods/materials.
Establish and implement workflow/standard operating procedures to effectively carry out scheduling/shipping practices.
Support the supervisor in managing forwarders' KPI reviews and ensure shipping guidelines requirements are fully complied with and followed.
Conduct Requests for Quotation (RFQ) and negotiate freight quotes with service providers to improve savings on transportation expenditure.
Systems & Logistics ApplicationEstablish a timely and effective reporting procedure for various logistics management reports and conduct other operational analyses.
Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer, sales, order management, accounting, or shipping.
Contract ManagementLiaise with logistics providers/suppliers to ensure pricing and services as negotiated are aligned with the needs of the business.
Organize and maintain the contract/agreement documents and submit them to Legal for revision.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:At least 8 years of relevant working experience in the logistics field; experience in the electronic industry is preferable.
Proficiency in MS Office, including WORD, EXCEL (including functions), and PowerPoint.
Fluent in spoken and written English and Malaysian; proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage.
Independent, fast learner, and able to work under pressure.
Strong negotiation, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Familiarity with logistics, including shipping, transportation, warehousing, and 3PL management in a manufacturing company is an advantage.
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION:University Degree or above in Supply Chain / Logistics Management or related discipline.
