Recruitment Specifications: Maintenance Manager – Retirement Resort
Position Overview
We are seeking a capable and experiencedMaintenance Managerto oversee the facilities and maintenance operations at our retirement resort. This role focuses on managing the upkeep and smooth functioning of a 126-room facility, including addressing resident unit issues and ensuring high standards of safety, functionality, and aesthetics.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the maintenance and operational readiness of all resort facilities, including resident units, common areas, and mechanical systems.
Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of maintenance staff, ensuring timely and quality service delivery.
Address and resolve resident unit maintenance concerns with professionalism and urgency.
Plan and execute preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of assets.
Manage budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective maintenance solutions.
Ensure compliance with safety, health, and regulatory standards.
Report directly to the Operations Manager and Director, providing regular updates on maintenance activities and challenges.
Requirements
Proven experience in facility or maintenance management, ideally within hospitality, retirement living, or similar environments.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, with an independent and proactive mindset.
Solid technical knowledge of building systems, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in facilities management, building maintenance, or a related field.
Experience managing large-scale properties or resorts with 126+ rooms.
