Position Summary
Within the context of Vale's business strategies and short, medium and long term operational goals, and through extensive collaboration, the incumbent will have the mandate and authority to strategize and manage all related maintenance functions for Vale in Malaysia, comprising but not limited to the development, implementation and measurement of respective strategies, policies and action plans.
This includes systematically coordinating and maintaining relationship with key stakeholders in Malaysia, regional counterparts and colleagues in other Vale departments in the country and abroad. The job implies a very collaborative work with all the business areas, operations/sites, reporting directly to the CEO of Vale Malysia Minerals. Articulation and colaboration with corporate areas in headquarters (Brazil) is also an important part of the scope of works.
Responsibility for short and medium term planning and to manage volumes to match the demand of the foreign market in Teluk Rubiah Maritime Terminal (TRMT - VMM), seeking to maximize the productivity of assets, optimization of the supply chain and ensuring the product quality in Asia System.
Responsibility for ensuring the process maintenance of Iron Ore distribution, with the agreement of monthly programs and quarterly overview of volume and quality, supported by planning requirements, programming and VPS pyramid control with the operations and maintenance in TRMT - VMM
Responsibility for ensuring that the Corporate Support area provides timely cost efficient services to ensure that port operations are run safely with key regard given to community and environmental standards and are on budget
investigations, security incident response and crisis management support for Vale's projects and operations in Malaysia is provided to a high standard
Responsible for co-ordination of all shift operational & maintenance activities at port in accordance with the safety, environment norms and Standard Operating Practices
To train and develop the new employees who will take part in the operational activities of the Port.
Ensuring the correctness of Draft surveys & Blending operation
· Coordination of shipping activities like Shore/Ship safety / Load-Unload plan /Ship Blast operation.
· Vessel acceptance and ship chartering as and when required
Qualifications and Education Requirements
University degree in an appropriate discipline
Minimum of 10 years experience in mining, exploration, extractive or heavy industry
