About the roleThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the effective operation and maintenance of all machinery and equipment within the facility. This role requires a deep understanding of industrial processes, adherence to company policies, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency. The Maintenance Technician will support continuous improvement efforts and contribute to the company's goal of becoming a world-class manufacturer.
Key responsibilitiesEnsure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Assist the Mechanical Supervisor in maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment.
Support the efficient operation of the workshop and engineering stores.
Participate in annual shutdowns, repairs, and inspections of pressure vessels, pumps, and other equipment as required.
Implement and support preventive maintenance systems.
Maintain safety and cleanliness in the workshop and surrounding areas.
Be available for emergency maintenance calls as needed.
Practice and promote 5S workplace organization.
Ensure compliance with environmental care standards through the ISO 14001 system.
Implement and adhere to ISO9001, ISO14001, FSSC22000, HACCP, AIB, GMP, SHE, and 5S procedures.
Follow good manufacturing practices (GMP) in alignment with food production standards.
Perform additional tasks as directed by management.
Adhere to discipline, overtime, and safety procedures consistently.
Qualifications and skillsCertificate or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial process environment.
Proficiency in computer applications; knowledge of AutoCAD is advantageous.
Experience in pump repairs is preferred.
Welding skills are an asset.
Familiarity with the SAP system is beneficial.
