The incumbent is also responsible for managing and co-ordinating the work of the Actuarial Services Department.Actuarial knowledge and skills are necessary in various aspects of insurance business, e.g. product design and pricing, analysis of the company's claims, persistency and expense experience, arrangement of reinsurance, calculation of reserves and profit reporting under various regulatory bases.Actuarial knowledge and skills are necessary in various aspects of insurance business, e.g. product design and pricing, analysis of the company's claims, persistency and expense experience, arrangement of reinsurance, calculation of reserves and profit reporting under various regulatory bases.PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: _(key accountabilities)_- Supervise preparation of Statutory, Embedded Value, New Business Profits, European QIS/GIECA and UK IGD reporting bases providing the necessary analysis and commentary. Liaise with auditors as necessary to verify results. Carry out financial projections for annual preparation of Company Budget. Accurate and timely completion of results.- Manage Economic Capital results based on Asset Liability Modelling. Accurate and timely completion of results- Develop professional working relationship with other departments, Bank Negara Malaysia ( Insurance Regulation Department and Insurance Supervision Department ) reinsurers and related industry bodies. Good working relationship with other departments, Bank Negara Malaysia, reinsurers and related industry bodies- Manage and co-ordinate work of actuarial staff, prioritising workload to ensure smooth delivery of actuarial services to the Company. Enhance the actuarial capabilities and business skills of the actuarial staff through appropriate guidance and instructions. Smooth delivery of actuarial services to the Company. Enhancement of skill sets of Actuarial staff.JOB SPECIFICATION _ (requirements)_Qualifications:- Degree in Actuarial Science / Mathematics / Statistics / Physics or other physical sciences or numerate disciplines- Fully qualified actuary (with an international recognised body)**Experience**:- Minimum 8 years of actuarial work experienceKnowledge- A numerate and analytical mind.- Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills- Should be high motivated with a focused and responsible approach to their work- Must be meticulous with the ability to work under pressure.- Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
