The Manager, Procurement oversees the company's purchasing activities, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring cost-effective procurement strategies align with business goals. This role is responsible for sourcing quality materials, negotiating favourable terms, and maintaining optimal inventory levels. The Manager, Procurement plays a critical role in supporting production and operational efficiency, while ensuring compliance with company policies and sustainability standards.
Job Responsibilities
Lead the Procurement team to develop and implement sourcing strategies to secure high-quality materials, components, and services at competitive prices.
Work with business stakeholders on RFQ, bidding, and negotiation strategies.
Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliable and cost-effective supply chains.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve favourable conditions and mitigate risks.
Oversee daily purchasing activities, ensuring quality standards, cost efficiency, and timely delivery.
Collaborate cross-functionally to forecast demand, maintain optimal inventory levels, and support production.
Maintain appropriate procurement records and prepare reports to present to stakeholders as required.
Ensure adherence to procurement policies, legal requirements, and industry standards, while managing risks and overseeing audits.
Benchmark and conduct market surveillance and maintain Supplier Intelligence Database.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives and leverage technology to enhance procurement efficiency.
Support cost reduction programs for new and existing projects.
Participate in any special projects/programs as assigned by the Company.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field; Diploma with relevant years of experience; certifications (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) are a plus.
Minimum 8-10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role, preferably in manufacturing or industry.
Good knowledge of procurement processes, contract law, supplier management, and cost optimization.
Proven negotiation skills with a track record of securing favourable terms and managing vendor relationships.
Strong product knowledge.
Job Related Skills
