Position
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the manufacturing engineering team, overseeing the development and optimization of manufacturing processes, and ensuring the successful introduction of new products into production. This role is pivotal in driving continuous improvement, reducing costs, and maintaining high-quality standards in manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage the manufacturing engineering team, ensuring alignment with company goals.
Oversee the development, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes.
Manage the introduction of new products (NPI) into manufacturing, ensuring smooth transitions and scalability.
Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction, quality improvement, and process efficiency.
Develop and maintain standardized operating procedures and work instructions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, quality, and production, to address technical challenges and improve product manufacturability.
Evaluate and integrate new technologies, equipment, and automation solutions to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
Oversee the design and implementation of jigs, fixtures, and tools to support production.
Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations within the manufacturing environment.
Monitor manufacturing KPIs and provide regular performance reports to General Manager.
Support capacity planning and resource allocation to meet production demands.
Develop training programs and provide technical guidance to manufacturing staff.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma practices.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related field), Master's degree is a plus.
8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 3 years in a managerial role preferred.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, systems, and tools (e.g., CAD, ERP).
Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
Demonstrated experience with new product introduction (NPI) and project management.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop high-performing teams.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a hands-on approach.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Familiarity with quality standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, 14000).
Knowledge of automation is a plus.
