The Manufacturing Lead is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily manufacturing activities to ensure efficient production, quality standards, and safety compliance. This role involves direct oversight of a team, troubleshooting production issues, and collaborating with cross-functional departments to achieve production goals. The Manufacturing Lead serves as the primary point of contact for their team and supports continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Supervision:
Lead and supervise a team of operators, technicians, or assemblers, ensuring they adhere to schedules and quality standards.Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members.Facilitate daily shift meetings to communicate production goals, safety protocols, and priorities.Production Oversight:
Monitor daily production operations and adjust schedules as needed to meet deadlines.Ensure optimal use of resources, including materials, equipment, and labor.Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may impact production, quality, or safety.Quality Control:
Enforce quality standards throughout the manufacturing process and conduct spot checks to ensure product consistency.Address any quality issues immediately and collaborate with Quality Control to implement corrective actions.Document and report quality performance metrics to management.Safety and Compliance:
Enforce all safety protocols and ensure team compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.Conduct regular safety audits and address any hazards immediately.Promote a culture of safety within the team through training and adherence to safety guidelines.Process Improvement:
Identify and recommend process improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste.Support Lean manufacturing initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices.Collect and analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of daily production, downtime, and maintenance issues.Prepare shift reports for management, detailing production metrics, quality concerns, and safety incidents.Ensure proper documentation of training, audits, and compliance checks.Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field preferred.5+ years in a manufacturing environment, with prior leadership experience preferred.Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.Ability to analyze and resolve production issues effectively.Proficient in using manufacturing software and Microsoft Office Suite.Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma principles (preferred).
