MASTER DATA ANALYST
Job Description
Primary Job Function
Primary liaison between the businesses as it relates to the create/read/update/delete of master data throughout the enterprise. Works directly with the customers to support and resolve challenges related to the mastering of critical business data. Applies relevant principles to support projects and ongoing activities. Completes tasks which support business teams and assists in the development of business requirements to solve for master data related business problems. Leads department level initiatives or provides assistance to departmental managers on phases of larger projects. May assist in supporting business continuity, relationship management, and business strategy.
Core Job Responsibilities
Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
With general guidance from the master data managers, perform various master data responsibilities. Perform mandatory validations such as OCR Denied Party Screening, address verification, and compliance verification. Responsible for communicating Master Data creates/changes to internal and external customers.
Requires a high degree of communicative ability due to multi-divisional and multi-functional issues. Required to participate in process improvement teams. Provide data analysis to verify/validate data and drill down to identify root causes.
Understand the implications of master data as it relates to SAP and other business systems based on requirements. Leads, mentors, and/or provides guidance to less experienced team members, where applicable, including guidance for troubleshooting escalated issues. Gather/document business requirements for Master Data initiatives.
Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of key goals and operational processes with stakeholders to aid in process development and data analysis.
Applies and executes standard strategic business theories, concepts, and techniques and assists in the development of master data standards and procedures.
Manages projects according to milestones and within budget constraints.

Establishes and maintains productive relationships with all levels throughout the organization and with external partners.
Works with minimal management direction.
Assists in monitoring technical and business support staff as it relates to projects.
Responsible for compliance with applicable Departmental, Corporate, and Divisional Policies and Procedures. Must adhere to divisional business rules and processes set forth in Master Data SOP's and SLA's.
Participates in business-critical Master Data initiatives. This includes advising on master data creates/changes when requested by divisional areas. Also, may participate in cross-functional process improvement teams. May be required to participate in division-specific projects, testing, enhancements, or data verification.
Failure to achieve results may result in business process delays and/or a duplicate effort caused by these errors. Errors could cause financial/business impacts to Abbott.
Effectively utilize Abbott systems to maintain the integrity of master data. This includes all aspects of the Create/Read/Update/Delete process. Systems include AES, ECC, cApps, and various ancillary systems.
Independently develops general approaches to the solution of problems which require application of basic project management principles and problem-solving skills. Work is reviewed to determine if overall results and objectives have been achieved.
Determines and develops approach and solutions to problems.
Medium/high complexity work.
Minimum Education
B.A./B.S. degree in Business, Accounting, Information Technology, or Finance preferred.
Minimum Experience / Training Required
Minimum 4-6 years' experience with Master Data Management exposure is preferred.
SAP experience along with advanced SQL, MS Access, and Excel skills are strongly preferred.
Business Analyst along with Data Analytics experience is a plus.#J-18808-Ljbffr
