Material Development Engineer

The ams OSRAM Opto Semiconductors business offers high-performance opto semiconductor components and in-depth support for state-of-the-art system solutions based on innovative semiconductor light sources. The Business Unit can look back on almost fifty years of production and development expertise. Demonstrate expertise in selecting, characterizing and releasing new phosphor, binders, absorbers, and all necessary materials for colour conversion. Provide compounding know-how to optimize the optical properties for new LED packages and for good process ability. Characterization of phosphors interactions with process, design and other materials. Identify opportunities and drive technology enabling projects on phosphor and benchmarking. Ensure material second source and cost savings targets be met through new supplier or new material introduction. Bachelor's, Master or PhD in Engineering (Mechanical/ Mechatronic/ Electromechanical), Engineering (Metallurgy/ Material Science), Physics or equivalent. Minimum 3 years in the field of conversion material development. Experience in project management will be an added advantage. Technical knowledge in the area of material engineering or physics (Advanced). Strong analytical skill, systematic problem solving skill, statistical knowledge, and detailed-oriented personality. Knowledge in statistical tools e.g. Minitab is required. Must be fluent in English. Satisfactory communication skill with different people from multiple job function. #J-18808-Ljbffr
