Job ResponsibilitiesProvide expert guidance on material selection for diverse projects, ensuring compatibility and compliance with industry standards.
Analyze and resolve material-related issues throughout the design, construction, and operational phases.
Conduct failure analyses and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Develop and implement effective corrosion control strategies, including coatings, cathodic protection, and material upgrades.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to incorporate material and corrosion considerations into project designs.
Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, and standards related to materials and corrosion.
Stay current with advancements in materials science and corrosion engineering.
Lead the creation and improvement of metrics, reporting processes, and systems to ensure performance, compliance, and asset integrity in line with business objectives.
Coordinate and promote regional QA/QC programs and policies.
Provide strategic thought leadership within your area of expertise, working independently to research and resolve complex issues. This role may involve guiding team members and contributing strategically.
Perform other duties as assigned.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Metallurgical engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
At least 10 years of experience in materials and corrosion engineering.
In-depth knowledge of material properties, corrosion mechanisms, and mitigation techniques.
Experience with relevant industry standards and codes (e.g., NACE, ASTM, ASME).
Proficiency with material selection software and corrosion analysis tools.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Willingness to travel up to 30% within the APAC region.
Additional minimum qualifications may apply.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
Familiarity with advanced materials and emerging corrosion control technologies.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
Experience coordinating with senior internal and external stakeholders across departments.
Expertise in identifying technical gaps and providing solutions.
