Mechanical Design Engineer with strong mechanical design experience tasked with designing and implementing custom solutions adapted to diversity of HID equipment across the globe. The incumbent will be part of the manufacturing engineering dept. and focused on improving flexibility, productivity, and efficiency of HID production lines. Projects could be oriented on existing machine modification, brand new machine design or high-level troubleshooting. The assigned projects will relate to Credentials Provisioning Equipment, Test equipment, sub-parts assembly & lamination, material preparation or antennas winding & bonding activities in front-end factories.
Team player with strong communication skills in a global and multi-cultural environment, the activities could be driven with HID worldwide teams or joint activity with sub-contractors.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Work in a team environment to define and analyze requirements to implement machine design solutions.
Prepare calculations on the proposed machine before completing technical drawings.
Sketch and draw up designs using input from internal customers.
Calculate factors like tolerance, dimensions, and thermal and structural analysis.
Create designs in line with company procedures, regulations, and customer standards.
Prepare and present designs at various design reviews.
Produce required design documentation and submit drawings to upper management and internal customers.
Use internal customer feedback and data to design, upgrade, improve or repair the company's existing machines.
Provide support during the building and installation process, ensuring that the machine is built properly and according to design specifications.
Qualifications

Experience & Strong knowledge in:
Knowledge of the basic principles, methods, and practices involved in the design of automated equipment/machines (GD&T, Tolerance Analysis, …).
Design of moderately complex parts and assemblies for quality conscious design - performance, cost, reliability, ease of use, safety, and ease of assembly/manufacturing.
Familiar with MTTR, MTBF & module design conversion principle.
Knowledge of equipment and material required for the efficient operation of the automated equipment/machines.
3D design experience, Autodesk Inventor 2D drawings & 3D solid would be an advantage.
Hardware parts definition (such as motors, axis, drivers, sensors, …).
CAD libraries creation & usage.
Maintain Bills of Materials, component assembly lists, model family trees, etc.
Conduct model analysis studies for structural, fatigue & thermal.
Build confidence in model and simulation studies with complementary real-world data.
Able to write Functional/ Design Specification.
Strong computer and mathematical skills.
Have experience working with RFID Technology, Encoders and Readers.
Education and/or Experience
Degree in Mechanical/ Mechatronics Engineering from a reputable university or equivalent, master's degree is a plus.
Registered Graduate Engineer under Board of Engineer Malaysia (BEM).
Minimum 1 year of experience working in a related field in Manufacturing Industry.
Language Skills
Ability to effectively communicate in the English language verbally and in writing.
Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.
Comfortable in working in an international team and in a global networking environment.
Computer Skills
Proficient in MS Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Familiar with operating systems, such as Windows, etc.
Work Requirements
Travel and fieldwork including international travel; therefore, employee must possess or can acquire a valid Passport/Visa.
