The Designer is responsible for developing designs for complete and complex facility utilities (HVAC, Boilers, Chillers…) engineering systems, structures, and central utilities plant arrangements independently with minimum supervision. Plans and executes the presentation of these systems in graphic form or in detailed scale models. Has good knowledge of industry and regulatory standards and codes. Position requires sound comprehensive knowledge of design and drafting techniques, engineering drawing, CAD/Revit, computer model work, and reading of drawings.Reports to:CAD ManagerJob Responsibilities and Expectations:With the direction of engineering , you will create and draft mechanical/electrical/process/controls drawings for various types of projects within projects' schedule and budget while following company established processes.Design HVAC, compressors, chiller, cooling towers and mechanical piping that are code complaint, cost-effective, and meet quality and schedule requirementsProficient in the use of: Revit, Navisworks, AutoCADFamiliar with the following design and calculations: duct sizing & static pressure, axial fan sizing, piping and duct pressure drop, pump selection, and pipe sizing. Process piping experience a plusExperience in designing HVAC systems for: industrial, warehouse, manufacturing or data center type facilitiesAssist in the development and specifications and scopes of work to complete various projects,Provide assistance in the development of projects and execution or Document control and maintenance of quality documents in his/her area of responsibility, Customer visits and related team involvement.Assist senior engineers on projects as directed, Ability to read and interpret documents such as Engineering Codes (state or city), engineering specification, Ability to write reports, memorandums and meeting minutes.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers both internal and external.Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.) in its most difficult phases, and Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.Research and obtain standards/codes required by client and Jurisdiction through interaction with necessary personnel (PM, PE, etc.) to accurately and efficiently develop above noted planAbility to work as a team player and interact well with othersBe able to form working relationship with internal and external customers.Complete drawing/project responsibilities within scope, budget and schedule; review drawings for completeness and accuracyEducation and Experience:Bachelors of Engineering Degree from an accredited university 3+ years of proven design experience within the above-mentioned discipline in the fields of Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Life Sciences, Semiconductor or Laboratory industriesTrained in the use of interpretation and application of AutoCAD / Revit design software.Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.Required Work Experience:Proficient MS Word, Excel, PowerPointProficient with computer editing software, Photoshop, Sketchup or EqualRequired Competencies / Qualities:Detail Oriented – Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.Accountability – Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.Deductive Reasoning – Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.Time Management – Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines.#J-18808-Ljbffr
