Medical Interpreter (Mandarin)

The Mandarin Interpreter is a WORK FROM HOME position and is responsible for handling telephone or video calls on demand and renders meaning of conversations in the consecutive mode of interpretation between speakers of Mandarin/Cantonese and English. She/he processes information quickly and concisely, recognizes sensitive cultural differences, and is professional and courteous at all times.The Mandarin interpreter will use appropriate industry terminology and understands common industry procedures and practices.The calls may involve simple or complex, non-technical or technical subjects in Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Finance, Utilities, Travel and Hospitality, 911 emergency services, Law Enforcement, Courts, and General Business.ResponsibilitiesProvide strict renditions of the messages including every detail of the conversation, and is prepared for challenging calls at any timeEmploy good customer service and communication skills, clear enunciation, pronunciation, pleasant and professional voice, as well as polite forms of expressionsEmploy good customer service and communication skills, clear enunciation, pronunciation, pleasant and professional voice, as well as polite forms of expressionsAble to explain certain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication with the permission or atrequest of the clientQualificationsNative Fluency in Mandarin and EnglishAble to work in 24/7 rotational shift (5 working days/week), majority of the work schedules falls on night/graveyard shiftMinimum Education qualification: Completion of High School EducationHave thorough knowledge of Medical and other industry terminologies would be an added advantageEducation in languages/ translation/ interpretation and/or healthcare-related fields is preferredHave stable Internet connectionTeleperformance Malaysia embraces diversity.
