Medical Laboratory Technologist (Cytology / Histology) Laboratory & Technical Services (Science & Technology)
Conforms to conduct of professional activities in accordance with the ethical standards of the profession. Responsible for the day-to-day laboratory operations and the accuracy of test results. Ensures that the highest quality services are provided for the customers. Attends to all urgent requests with immediate attention and ensures that test results are completed within the expected turnaround time. Communicates all critical test results to the staff nurses / clinicians immediately.  Ascertains that all the quality control procedures are validated prior to testing. Any violation shall be immediately investigated with corrective and preventive actions taken. Checks and maintains equipment are in working condition. Any faults or anomalies shall be reported to the Project and Facility Department or external vendor, where appropriate, for immediate rectification.  Assists with the orientation of newly appointed laboratory staff. Participates in internal/external training and continuing medical education programme. Involves and contributes ideas towards the safety and quality improvement activities of the laboratory. Ensures that all reasonable care and precautions are taken to prevent the occurrence of accidents to patients, staff and visitors and to comply with the national and local guidelines on Health and Safety. Ensures that reagents, supplies and consumables are adequate for the smooth operation of equipment. To perform duties after working hours as needed. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Science. Knowledge in cytology / histopathology is preferred. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
