**Job***: Governance, Risk Management & Compliance**Primary Location***: Asia-Malaysia-Bukit Jalil KL**Schedule***: Full-time**Employee Status***: Permanent**Posting Date***: 22/Jan/2024, 12:51:41 AM**Unposting Date***: Ongoing**Role Responsibilities**The job holder is required to perform an end-to-end validation of the climate risk models. Validation work includes quantitative and qualitative assessment of model performance and specifications. Assessment of model components and outputs against the relevant climate risk stress testing regulations will be covered in the scope of this role.**RESPONSIBILITIES**- Subject-matter-expert concerning all aspects of climate risk modelling (both physical risk and transition risk) and the use of climate risk models for credit risk and financial stress testing.- Perform an independent validation of the climate risk models used in risk management, capital calculation, stress testing, etc.- Qualitative review of model development process including underlying assumptions and theoretical basis.- Quantitative assessment of model performance via data evaluation and statistical testing.- Documentation of validation findings and communication of results to senior management and presentation to relevant committees.- Maintenance of Climate Risk model family standards (with focus on model validation process and criteria) to ensure that the validation standards remain appropriate and in line with industry practices.- Coordination with internal stakeholders on model issues, achieving suitable resolutions.- Manage and complete the model validation from end to end, meeting the planned timelines and required standards.- Review regulatory requirements and industry practice regarding the models.- Assist Head of Model Validation in addressing concerns or questions relating to the climate risk models.***Governance**- Submission of model validation reports to relevant Model Assessment Committee.- Attend Model Assessment Committee where the report is being presented for approval.**Regulatory & Business Conduct**- Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.- Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.- Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.*****Key stakeholders**- Group Finance & Treasury- Enterprise Risk Analytics- Group Retail Risk- CIB & Commercial Risk- Country Risk Teams- Group Internal Audit- External Audit- Regulators- Model Risk Management- Group Operational Risk**QUALIFICATIONS****TRAINING, LICENSES, MEMBERSHIPS AND CERTIFICATIONS**- At least graduate level qualifications in actuarial science, statistics, banking, finance, econometrics, mathematics or related quantitative field.- Experience in developing or validating quantitative models in areas related to climate risk.- Subject-matter-expert concerning climate risk modelling and the use of climate risk models for credit risk and financial stress testing.- Strong programming skills (Python, R, SAS, SQL, VBA, etc.).- Postgraduate degree (or equivalent) in maths, statistics, finance, quantitative analysis or related quantitative field.- Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skill.- Project management skill (advanced level).- Self-motivated person with a high level of drive, dedication and desire to excel consistently.- Focused and organised, with the ability to prioritise and deliver effectively.- Expertise in analytics, developing or validating statistical models within banking industry. Expert- Good understanding and experience in modelling, and/or stress testing analysis. Advanced- Proficient in statistical and data analysis using data management and statistical software which includes SAS, R, Excel etc. Advanced- Strong communication and project management skills. Advanced- Strong focus on quality control and attention to detail.
