Health Equity Initiatives (HEI) is a Malaysian-based organization that advances the right to health for marginalized communities, primarily refugees and asylum-seekers. To this end, HEI implements an integrated mental health program that adopts a community-based, participatory, and multi-disciplinary approach. The program includes the provision of mental health prevention and promotion, treatment, and rehabilitation services.
This is an entry-level position ideal for an ambitious recent graduate who wants to learn quickly and dedicate themselves to serving marginalized communities while building experience in monitoring and evaluation (M&E). The M&E Officer will be supervised by the M&E Coordinator and work closely with this person in their daily tasks.
Roles and ResponsibilitiesSupport in the coordination and completion of necessary reporting requirements by the organization or donors.
Produce dissemination products for internal and external audiences, including preparing an annual report of HEI's activities.
Support the development and maintenance of HEI's database including data protection and integrity measures.
Support in the development of necessary policies, guidelines, and processes in the execution of the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) portfolio.
Assist in the implementation of tools for data collection, monitoring, evaluation, and feedback processes for HEI's mental health and community-based programming.
Collaborate with team members to effectively utilize data to inform service delivery and other activities.
Continually assess current practices and recommend improvements for M&E purposes.
Update HEI website to maintain HEI's visibility.
Support the community outreach program where needed.
Qualifications and CriteriaMaster or Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, International Development, Economics, or related field.
1-2 years of applied M&E experience will be an added advantage.
Excellent written and oral proficiency in English.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to adhere to set timelines.
Proficient in Excel.
Passion for community work, professional and able to work in a team.
Remuneration will be commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications.
