Placement Specialist @ CHIS | HR, Recruiting, Employee RelationsNPI MachinistSalary Range from RM3000-3500Overview:NPI Machinists are responsible for working closely with engineers and designers to develop manufacturing processes for new products and components.
They must have a deep understanding of the materials and processes involved in the manufacturing of these products, and must be able to develop processes that are both efficient and effective.
NPI Machinists are responsible for creating and testing prototypes of new products and components to ensure that they meet the required specifications and quality standards.
They must be able to analyze and interpret technical drawings and blueprints, and must be able to identify and troubleshoot issues with prototypes.Key Responsibilities:Machine set-up and operation of complex and quick turn prototype and production parts with minimal supervision ensuring parts conform to specifications and requirements.Leading machine setup/operator team members through multiple projects.Communicate and coordinate with floor leads and process owners regarding capacity constraints in production.Assistance with the development of standardized programming and work holding methods.Familiar with Lean practices, 5S, and contributing to a continuous improvement environment.Be a key player in resolving any programming & machine issue during validation run of NPI parts.Train less experienced employees/machinists.Read work orders, routings, schedules, material labels, part drawings, and inspection data records.Preparing tools and materials required by work order, removing and cleaning tooling.Move parts and materials between work-centers as required.Collect and record NPI data for evaluation process.Maintain machine accuracy and perform probe calibration as required.Work flexible hours and overtime to meet customer deadlines and commitments.Train & handover the approved machining process (new product) to production machinist.Perform special assignments as required.Education and Experience:Possess technical certificate / Diploma in manufacturing engineering / mechanical engineering and CAD & CAM.Minimum 3-5 years experience in CNC 3 & 4-axis Milling, Turning & 5-Axis operation.Familiar with Okuma OSP & Mazaktrol controller.Able to write manual programming for Okuma OSP & Mazaktrol Controllers.Prototyping and first piece development experience.Efficient in common and complex metrology, including CMMs, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and dial indicators.Seniority Level:
