Job Summary:
To be an effective academic and to work closely with administrative colleagues to facilitate learning and the development of knowledge through teaching, supervision, student advisory and providing services to the university and community.
Design and continuously improve and adapt curriculum depending on educational needs.
Teach courses and provide training to nursing students.
Develop lesson plans.
Incorporate evidence-based research into educational plans, patient treatment plans, and nursing practices.
Serve as a mentor to nursing students, and identify growth opportunities and educational needs for practicing nursing students.
Promote critical thinking among nursing students, and show commitment to professional development and lifelong learning.
Maintain current knowledge of trends in the area of expertise.
Align nursing education with organizational and national priorities.
Conduct learning needs analysis and develop the training programme.
Develop and monitor nursing education budgets.
Develop clinical education and competency frameworks.
Ensure optimal clinical instructors-to-student ratio for effective learning and quality patient care.
Maintain clinical education standards according to the Malaysia Nursing Board's 'Standards for Clinical Education.'
Monitor students' performance and address issues with the Head of the Program/Head of Department and educational institutions.
Plan clinical placements for educational institutions to meet the clinical learning needs of staff.
Review continuing professional development programmes with recognized organizations.
Review nursing education and practices based on findings from educational audits.
Work with stakeholders to assess the effectiveness of professional development programmes.
