Reporting To: Regional General Manager
Position Summary: The Operations Manager is responsible for the planning, implementation and monitoring of the assigned service units and strategies to improve the overall utilization and performance,
Duties and Responsibilities: 1. The Operations Manager shall be overall responsible for the following units:
- Pharmacy
- Radiology
- Laboratory
- Customer Care
- Physiotherapy
- Food Services
2. Recruit, oversee and review the performance of the following Managers/ Executives:
- Pharmacy
- Radiology
- Laboratory
- Customer Care
- Physiotherapy
- Food Services
3. Assist the above Managers to establish their operations.
4. Organize operations meeting in consultation with the Regional General Manager.
5. Report to the Regional General Manager on the quality of customer care provided to the patients in the hospital.
6. Maintain an on-going department quality assurance program with the Managers.
7. Develop and maintain policies and procedures, In consultation with the Managers of the assigned units and to ensure compliance of policies and procedures.
8. Assist the customer care in rectifying, major issues through appropriate mechanisms such as discussion with involved parties (e.g. Medical Director, Consultants, Medical Officers, Chief of Nursing Services)
9. Oversee the capital expenditure of each unit to ensure that all appropriate evaluations are performed.
10. Assist each Manager in the tracking of fixed asset utilization rates, inventory, holding cost and operational expenses so that budgeted profits are achieved.
11. Explore and identify new areas of business for all the units.
12. Work closely with the Managers to ensure excellent customer service is provided.
13. Undertake, perform or otherwise carry out such other duties as the Regional General Manager may, In its sole and absolute discretion, at any time or from to time hereafter delegated or otherwise assigned.
Education and Requirements: - Degree in Business or Healthcare related degrees.
- Master in Business Administration or Healthcare Management preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the healthcare industry.
- > Minimum 5 years of senior management experience in the healthcare industry.
- Preferably with more than 5 years of experience in the private hospital industry.
- Experience in Hospital Quality Assurance activities.
- Good communication skills; reads, speaks and writes English fluently.
- Thorough knowledge of modern management principles, practices, and methods.
