Freight/Cargo Forwarding (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics)
Provide the fastest on-time door-to-door service, coordinating collections & deliveries, processing shipments for exports and imports. Pro-actively clear shipments with Customs and other government agencies where possible. Liaise with airlines, international agents, and other overseas offices in our network ensuring our shipments are handled appropriately. Rectify operational issues minimizing delays to agreed delivery times. Handle time critical shipments, dangerous goods, temperature sensitive products using special packaging (including refrigerants and temperature monitors).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Imports:
Utilization of in-house Transport Monitoring System and reports applicable to inbound shipments according to SOP 600 and operations email.
Review and provide "ok to send" to origin offices.
Provide origin offices with sending instructions when necessary.
Verify job details against the shipping document to ensure accuracy for the shipment details e.g. Drive away, service code, flight details etc.
Contact consignee to obtain relevant import licenses and confirm payment method for duty & taxes when required.
Co-ordinate with Agents for clearance applicable with government agencies in a timely manner to ensure the fastest possible delivery time.
Ensure shipments are stored at the correct temperature condition on arrival until delivery.
Follow special instructions for each shipment.
Prepare delivery manifest for the Couriers.
Plan & engage 3rd party transporter when required.
Send daily inbound advice and POD confirmation to key customers as required.
Perform shipment check and replenishment of refrigerants for inbound shipments.
Provide or email import Customs documents requested by Clients.
Exports:
Utilization of in-house Transport Monitoring System and reports applicable to outbound shipments according to SOP 600 and operations email.
Arrange flight bookings with carriers and 3rd party provider.
Prepare packaging and/or refrigerants for each shipment.
Mark and label shipments in accordance with local regulations and the IATA DGR.
Check and tally MAWB, Airline labels against shipment details and packaging for export.
Follow destination office sending instructions.
Enter all applicable extra charges for each job.
Update and manifest jobs, including attaching documents to Opti view.
Obtain necessary endorsements/clearance with applicable government agencies when appropriate.
Confirm uplift (postflight) for all outbound shipments including agent locations & airline transfers.
Perform station transfer for shipments transiting Kuala Lumpur.
Check and replenish refrigerants when necessary for all outbound shipments including shipments transiting Kuala Lumpur.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Driving License, preferably with Good Driving License (GDL).
Minimum level with a pass in English, and or above Diploma or equivalent.
