Job Responsibilities:
Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint, etc.
Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right colour or texture.
Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools.
Cover trim, floors, furniture, and other surfaces with masking tape, drop cloths, and other protective coverings to keep them free of paint.
Apply primer and other sealers to paint surfaces to ensure that paint sticks to them.
Remove old finish using scrapers, chemical compounds, or blowtorches.
Estimate time and material costs on painting projects.
Clean machines, equipment, and work areas using water, solvents, and other cleaning aids.
Remove and reinstall fixtures.
