The Payroll Administrator plays a key role in accurately processing payroll data for multiple countries within Smith & Nephew, ensuring timely end-to-end payroll management.
Responsibilities include data entry, system updates, handling interfaces between Workday and local payroll systems, and executing vendor interfaces.
With the aid of a payroll system, the administrator handles all payroll functions, such as calculating overtime, deductions, and bonuses.
The role also supports payroll processing outside the administrator's usual region when needed.
What will you be doing?The Payroll Administrator's primary responsibilities include entering, reviewing, and processing end-to-end monthly payroll, handling employee maintenance, tax information, direct deposits, and new hire/termination updates.
Additional tasks involve coordinating with HR for accurate updates in payroll systems and handling interfaces and reports between Workday and local systems.Key duties also include auditing payroll data, coordinating employee garnishments, supporting system upgrades, and executing vendor interfaces.
The administrator ensures accurate data transfers to Finance for ledger posting and conducts testing in Workday and payroll databases (5%) for detailed inbound/outbound operations.
What will you need to be successful?Candidates should have an Associate's Degree in Payroll, Business, or equivalent experience, with 1–3 years of payroll experience handling 100+ employees.
Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and payroll software (e.g., Workday), along with multilingual capabilities, is helpful.This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
The Payroll Administrator should work well in a small team, lead tasks independently, and handle tight deadlines.
